On January 22, 2011, William E. Wentworth, age 87,beloved husband of 47 years of Patricia Wentworth(nee Diaz). Dear father of Bill Wentworth and his wife Joy and Patty McDonald and her husband Erik.; dear grandfather of Emila, Ashleigh, Ellie, Owen and Colin; dear brother of Joan Snouffer; dear uncle of Cindy, Peggy, Bethany and Joe.

The eldest son of the late Marion Wentworth Turner and Harry Wentworth, Bill was born in 1923 in Detroit and grew up there during the Great Depression. His family moved to Maryland where he graduated from Hampstead High School in 1940. He worked as anapprentice machinist at Bartlett-Hayward for 3 years and then served in the U.S. Navy during World War II for 2 1/2 years. His ship, the Porcupine, was sunk in the Philippines by a suicide plane on December 30, 1944. He received an honorable discharge as a Machinist Mate 1st Class and then attended Drexel University, graduating in 1949 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for W. R. Grace for 41 years as a project engineer for chemical plant construction, supervising plant construction in the U.S.A, Canada, the Caribbean, South America and Spain, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed doing handyman jobs around the house as well as maintaining and repairing automobiles.

The family will receive friends at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 York Road (Beltway exit 26A) Thursday 5-7 PM where a Memorial Service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM. Inurnment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
