On July 30, 2012, Walter Christopher Francis Whalen, age 91. Beloved husband of Mary R. Whalen (nee Fitzpatrick) for 64 years. Loving father of Maryellen Whalen, Walter Whalen, Kevin Whalen, Brian Whalen, Owen Whalen and Maryann Whalen Petrosky. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren. He was born, raised and educated in Scranton, PA, graduated from the University of Scranton prior to enlisting in the army. He received training at Cape Croft, SC and was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant at Fort Benning, GA, and fought and was wounded during WWII in the invasions of Mindinao. Was a successful self-employed businessman.

Friends may call at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 York Road (beltway exit 26) on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Texas on Friday at 10:00 AM. Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
