On April 12, 2012 Violet "Vi" Joyce DeShong (nee Cochran); beloved wife of John R. "Bob" DeShong; devoted mother of Denise C. DeShong, and Bruce D. DeShong and his partner Ruth; loving grandmother of Kevin P. and Crystal M. Buck, Jennifer M. and Christian A. DeShong; sister of Goff Clark Cochran, and the late Hugh W. and Iris P. Cochran.

Mrs. DeShong's family will be receiving friends at Texas United Methodist Church (9 Galloway Ave Cockeysville, MD) on Wednesday 10- 10:30 AM, at which time a Funeral Service will begin.
