Obituary

Timothy (Timmy) Spielman, a dedicated Baltimore City firefighter and EMT died suddenly on May 18, 2026 in his Baltimore County home.  Born on June 17, 1975, to Ron and Pat Spielman, he attended St. Dominic school; graduated from Loyola Blakefield and earned a Business Degree from Limestone University after graduating from Essex Community College.

Tim spent his entire career of 23 years proudly serving the citizens of Baltimore as a member of Engine 20, Truck 18, Medic 8. Even after sustaining a serious work injury in 2021, Tim worked tirelessly to return to the job that he loved.

He was a fierce competitor throughout life, playing multiple sports starting at age 5 in both the Overlea and Parkville Recreation Councils.  Timmy went on to Loyola High School where he wrestled varsity for four years, breaking numerous records and winning two Maryland State Athletic Association (MSA) championships.  He took great pride in the fact that he was never pinned on the wrestling mat.  However, Tim's true love was lacrosse, which he played at both Essex and Limestone .

Tim possessed an incredible zest for life. He remained a passionate sports enthusiast who found equal joy in playing the game and cheering from the sidelines. His happiest moments were spent soaking up the sun at his favorite place, the beach, and exploring the world alongside his cherished partner and girlfriend, Shannon Blessing.

Above all, Tim loved his family. He is survived by his parents Ron and Pat Spielman; his brother Andrew and wife Lisa and their children, Dylan Rexrode, Reilly, and Kaylie; his brother Ryan and wife Katie K and their children, Emily, Philip, and Eden; his sister Kate Harris and her partner Bill Hauhn and children Charney, Wyatt, Evan, Paige and Drew.

Tim's warmth radiated brightest when he was spending time with his nieces and nephews, and he was most proud of his role as godfather to Reilly and Eden. He also leaves behind many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and a vast circle of friends.
Tim's presence will be profoundly missed, but his courageous heart, adventurous spirit, and love for his family and firehouse brothers and sisters will never be forgotten.
