Obituary

Thomas Francis Good passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family in Baltimore, MD on Jan 4, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Agnes Good, his wife, Virginia Metford Good, and his sister, Margaret (Good) Updyke.

He is survived by his sister, Virginia (Good) and Richard Woodhouse (Baltimore, MD), his children Elizabeth Good Mazhari (Baltimore, MD) and George Good (Bloomington, IN), his son-in-law, Reza Mazhari, and grandchildren, Hannah and Leila Mazhari, and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was born in Elmira, NY on June 3, 1934. He attended Southside High School and the College of the Holy Cross (MA), where he majored in business and ran track and field. He started his career and subsequently met his wife, Virginia, in Boston, MA before moving to Chicago, and eventually settling in Madison, IN where they raised their two children and enjoyed 27 years of loving marriage. He spent the majority of his career as real estate broker and appraiser. After his wife passed, he eventually moved home to Elmira, NY before finally moving to Baltimore in 2016.

Tom's adventurous spirit allowed him to explore and enjoy many hobbies up until his final year of life. He loved hiking/walking, tennis, golf, music and movies. When he returned to Elmira, he enjoyed reconnecting with old friends and spending time with his sisters and their families, and ten years of wonderful friendship and travel with Marge Wert. While living in Baltimore, in addition to being a fixture in West Towson walking the neighborhood streets, he also joined the Immaculate Conception choir and the Towson Encore Chorale, took drawing and painting classes, and enjoyed playing bridge at Pickersgill Retirement Community before moving to Arden Courts Memory Care in 2023. He thoroughly enjoyed cheering on his granddaughters in all their athletic adventures and attending school functions and spending time with Elizabeth's family. He especially enjoyed when George visited and their movie and dinner outings.

He will be remembered as a kind and loving man who embraced life and treasured family gatherings.
