On February 21, 2011, Stephen Strickland Showers, beloved husband of Mariann "Tate" Showers (nee VanZile); loving son of the late Leon and Lucille Strickland Showers; loving father of Patricia Showers Ryan (Michael) and Stephanie Anne DeBastiani (Wesley) of Morgantown, West Virginia; loving grandfather of Morgan Ryan, Jonathan and Jacob DeBastiani.

Steve dedicated his career to University Administration holding administrative positions at Texas A&M, Penn State University, University of Delaware, West Virginia University and Towson University. An avid golfer, he held a Bachelors from Penn State University, Masters from Colorado State University and pursued doctoral studies at Penn State. Friends may call at Ruck Towson Funeral Home, 1050 York Road, Towson, Maryland, (410) 823-1700 on Thursday, Feb. 24th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm where Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 9 AM. Interment in Lewistown, Pennsylvania.
