Sister Marie Antoinette du St. Esprit Takahara, l.s.p. returned home to God peacefully in the early morning of May 12, 2026, at the age of 94.  Born Alice Nanae Takahara on October 20, 1931, in Kona, Hawaii, Sister pronounced her first vows as a Little Sister of the Poor on May 2, 1962, in New York.  She then served the elderly in several Homes in the United States as well as in Hong Kong. Sister Marie Antoinette loved our Blessed Mother very much, and she could usually be seen saying her rosary as she walked around. She also loved flowers and wanted to give joy to the Residents by the flowers which she planted and cared for in her garden.

Sister's viewing will take place on Wednesday, May 20 from 2:00-5:00 with the rosary at 4:30 at St. Martin's Home. On Thursday, May 21, there will be another viewing from 9 -10 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30, also in the chapel of St. Martin's Home.
