Sheila Dawn Scarboro passed away on September 23, 2026 after a lengthy battle with lung disease, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith.

Sheila earned a degree from Dundalk Community College and continued her education at the University of Baltimore. A lifelong learner and avid reader, she never lost her curiosity or her appreciation for knowledge.

Sheila's faith was unwavering, and her dedication and concern for others touched the lives of family, friends, and neighbors alike. She loved God and treasured the time she spent studying the Bible with like-minded members of New Light Church. She also loved playing bingo, and her weekly bingo groups became an important part of her social life.

Above all, Sheila cherished her family. She was predeceased by her loving mother, Catherine D'Avella, and her father, Earl Altman. The oldest of six children, her siblings include Katherine Sue Altman, Bruce Altman, Denise Levitt , Tina D'Avella, and Anthony D'Avella.  She was a loving mother to her two children, Delina Phillips (Darrell) and Jeremy Smith; a proud grandmother to Joseph Bartrum, Jr. and Stephen Russell; and a great-grandmother to Samuel Russell.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
