Obituary

On September 10, 2026, Roger Luther Muhler passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He was the cherished son of the late Edward G. Muhler and Dorothy R. Muhler (nee Grewe); beloved husband of Sharon L. Muhler (nee Reaney); devoted father of Michele L. Stickel and her husband William K. Macsherry; loving grandfather of Lillie L. Macsherry; dear brother of Gail Abe and her husband Joe; Roger is also survived by his three nephews and their families.

Roger was born in Baltimore and grew up in Parkville where he attended Parkville High as a member of the class of 1968. He loved playing baseball and basketball for the Knights. He spent the last 30 years living in his dream home in a tranquil woodland area of Harford County.

Following his service in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Midway during the Vietnam War, Roger worked for the state of Maryland in various IT roles for more than 35 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, camp and play golf. He also had many life-long hobbies including coin and stamp collecting, model trains, and classic cars.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated at St. James Episcopal Church, 3100 Monkton Rd, Monkton, MD 21111, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. with a reception to follow in Mac Hall on the property. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to support the John Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center. Please make checks payable to Johns Hopkins University.
