Brandon Mollett of Baltimore, MD passed away peacefully on September 7th, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. Brandon was born in Baltimore on December 14th, 1975, to Richard and Dorothy Mollett. He graduated Boys' Latin School of Maryland in 1994, graduated as a Classics Major from Middlebury College in 1998, and received his masters in English from Bread Loaf in 2012.
Brandon proudly devoted his professional life to serving the Boys' Latin community as a teacher and administrator for over 25 years. His unwavering love and devotion to the school and students was widely recognized, and at his retirement ceremony this Spring, the Middle School was renamed "Mollett Hall."
While Brandon studied the classics, he was a true renaissance man. He had an unmatched wit; a magnetic personality and his passions knew no limits. He was never shy about talking about all of them…a lot. His love for teaching was matched by lacrosse, reading, snowboarding, debating, motorcycles, Latin, cooking, Ravens, rock climbing, and family (just to name a few…). During his retirement ceremony, Boy's Latin listed Top 10 Things We Love about Brandon Mollett, which ranged from "He can find a teachable moment in literally anything" to "He is "delightfully argumentative", but concluded with #1 that best encapsulates Brandon: "He made people believe they were capable of more than they ever thought possible".
But of all his passions, Brandon was most passionate about being a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Jen and his daughter, Elizabeth.
Brandon will be sorely missed by so many family and friends, but he would remind all of us of this phrase "Quam bene vivas refert non quam diu" It is how well you live that matters, not how long.
Brandon is survived by his parents, Richard and Dorothy Mollett and his devoted brother, Ryan; his wife, Samantha; and their children, Sasha, Beckett, and Matthew. He is also survived by his loving in-laws, David and Eileen Losaw; his brother-in-law, Jeff Losaw, his wife, Jennifer; and their son, Ryan. He will be deeply missed by his family and all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
A Mass celebrating Brandon's life will be held on Monday, October 19, at 10:00 a.m. at The Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Baltimore, Maryland. A reception will follow at Antrim 1844 in Taneytown, Maryland. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather to celebrate Brandon's life, share memories, and support one another.
