Richard Alan Hamilton, affectionately known as Rick, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, in Baltimore, Maryland, at the age of 64. Born on March 22, 1960, in Baltimore, Rick was the beloved son of Barbara Hamilton and the late James H. Hamilton. He is survived by his devoted mother; his brothers John (Marianne) and Robert (Martha), his cherished niece, Lindsay Vervynckt (Brian); nephews Matthew Hamilton (Stephania), Michael Hamilton, and Andrew Hamilton (Alexandra); and grand-niece McKinney W. Vervynckt.
Rick graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a degree in Business. His summers were spent in Ocean City, Maryland, where he formed lifelong friendships that remained steadfast throughout his life. He loved to bike, golf and ski. Rick's love for the outdoors led him (and his loyal dog Jack) to live and work in Park City, Utah, and San Diego, California, before returning to the East Coast to be closer to family and friends.
An avid skier, Rick enjoyed annual family trips to Wisp and regular excursions to Colorado and Utah, sharing his passion and many hours on the slopes with his nephews and niece. His infectious smile and easygoing demeanor earned him the nickname "Pokey" among friends. Rick was a familiar face from Ocean City to Bethany, spending countless weekends at the beach.
Rick's professional life was equally fulfilling. For the past twelve years, he worked as a Sales Manager with Latitude Beverage, marketing and selling wine in the Mid-Atlantic region. This role allowed him to explore his passion for wine, including a memorable trip to Portugal and France.
A devoted member of Grace Fellowship Church in Timonium, Maryland, Rick found solace in worship music and the teachings of Jesus Christ. His entire family recently gathered in Charlotte, North Carolina, for a Thanksgiving celebration, a testament to the love and unity he inspired. Rick's legacy of love, laughter, and friendship will be cherished by all who knew him.
