On June 24, 2024, at the age of 86, Richard "Dick" D. Irvin, beloved husband of the late Patricia Reynolds Irvin; devoted father of Russell Irvin and his wife Cheri and Jennifer Belt and her husband Donald; cherished grandfather of Tim Irvin and his wife Lindsay, Alex Pittman, Chris Pittman, Allyson Belt, and Lily Belt; loving great grandfather of Axell Irvin and Carson Irvin; dear step brother of Stephanie Schmidt; dear brother of the late Thomas Irvin and his wife Debbie.

Richard "Dick" Irvin was born July 9, 1937. Dick graduated from Towson High School in 1956. He was a graduate from Washington College in Chestertown Maryland.

Dick always had a passion for Golf and Hillendale Country Club. His membership stretches back to the 1950s. His parents were some of the earliest members of the club. He had many golf accomplishments. Club champion eight times and eight times as runner up. Senior club champion five times. There were also many state tournaments and Mid-Atlantic Championships that were won.

He was part of several Hillendale State Champion teams as well as team leader for several seasons.

When Dick was not playing golf, he was working. Dick, with his father Harry and his brother Tom, developed the company TDH Nursery and Landscaping. This company has served the community since 1965 and today provides jobs for approximately 100 employees.

Dick was a devoted husband for over 60 years and a great father to his two children along with being a wonderful grandfather and great grandfather.

Friends may call at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Rd. (beltway exit 26), on Sunday, June 30th, from 2 to 4 PM.  A Funeral Service will be held at the TDH Nurseries Farm, at marked entrance, 14820 Old York Rd., Phoenix, MD 21131, on Monday, July 1st, at 10 AM.  Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.  In memory of Richard, donations may be made to Defenders of Animal Rights  at www.adopt-a-pet.org/ or Crohn's and Colitis Foundation at www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org .
