On April 13, 2026, Ralph Sargent Tyler, III, passed away peacefully in Lutherville, MD, from Cardiac Amyloidosis and Neurogenic Orthostatic Hypotension, a complication of Parkinson's disease, surrounded by his family and friends.
Ralph is the beloved husband of Georgiana Simmel Tyler. He is also survived by his sister Rae Tyler Millman of Columbia, Maryland, her daughter Dawn Millman Popp (Michael) of Elkridge Maryland and their children Adam Howard Popp of Baltimore, Maryland; Jeremy Dawson Popp U.S. Navy; and Maria Celeste Popp of Elkridge, Maryland. His niece Wendy Millman Troxel (Jon) of Park City, Utah and their children John Howard (Jack) Troxel of Denver, Colorado and Calla Rae Troxel of Park City, Utah. A nephew Darren Scott Millman (Karen) of Ann Arbor, Michigan and their children Samuel Michael Millman of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Ava Marie Millman, U.S. Navy and Natalie Ann Millman of Ann Arbor, Michigan. A brother William Clark Tyler of Ann Arbor, Michigan. A sister-in-law Marilyn Simmel Averi of Lutherville, Maryland and her daughter Natalie Saks (Michael) and their daughter Eliza Rose. 3 Brother-in-laws, James Simmel of Olney, Maryland, Donald Simmel (Danette) of Gaithersburg, Maryland and their children Crystal Summers (Logan) of North Potomac, Maryland and their children Harper and Wyatt; Daniel Simmel of Gaithersburg, Maryland and Michael Simmel (Tonya) of Hagerstown, Maryland, William (Bill) Simmel (Vickie) of Missoula, Montana and their children Blake Simmel of Missoula and Madeline Simmel (Dillon) and their daughter Parker of Chicago, Illinois.
Ralph is pre-deceased by his parents Ralph S. Tyler, Jr. and Marion Clark Tyler, his sister Alice Campbell Tyler, his brother-in-law John R. Simmel III and his brother-in-law Howard L. Millman.
The family will receive friends at the Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 York Rd, on Sunday, April 26th and Monday, April 27th from 4-7pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers: Ralph was a long-time board member of the CollegeBound Foundation, which supports Baltimore City public school students on their paths to and through college.
