Sadly, on June 6, 2026, Peter Reinhold Loercher, age 86, for whom every stranger became an acquaintance and any broken object was his next successful project, died of Alzheimer's Disease.

Pete married Sally (Reider) in 1968 and welcomed children, jack R. and Theresa R. (Joseph) Campanella the III. Pete treasured being called Apple by his grandchildren, Joey IV and Natalie. Pete is also survived by his brother, Robert P. Fifield and his wife, Cathy (Will). Pete's parents were Walter Lorcher and Mimi Lorcher Wick.

Pete, at age 9, came to Baltimore from Frankfurt, Germany. Having successfully adjusted to his new home and language, Pete graduated from Poly and the University of Maryland. While in college, Pete enjoyed working summers at a cannery on the Eastern Shore.

With a degree in Engineering, Pete began his 38 years at Western Electric, through its multiple name changes. His career ended with the virtual demise of landline phones and the birth of the cell phone. Subsequently, Pete worked part time for 10 years for an electrical contractor supporting others who enjoyed making things work.

Pete spent time with friends playing golf and cards, bike riding, fishing and driving his MG. He was a member of the Parkville Jaycees and volunteered on the board of their neighborhood association. Pete loved vacations visiting relatives in Germany, and weekend treks around Loch raven with the kids and the family dog. Pete loved his life as we loved him!
