Nomiki Bouloubassis
Weitzel
d. Apr 23, 2026
Nomiki Bouloubassis Weitzel, 69, of Baltimore, MD, passed away on April 23, 2026.
Mrs. Weitzel was a highly respected elder law attorney serving the Baltimore community for over 35 years, known for her intellect, dedication, and deep compassion for her clients. A graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1985, she began her career as a trust officer with Mercantile Safe Deposit and Trust Company before establishing her own private practice in northeast Baltimore, where she helped generations of families with care and integrity. She also shared her knowledge as an adjunct faculty member at her alma mater and was an active leader in the legal community, serving as chair of the Elder Law Section of the Maryland State Bar Association and as a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
To those who knew her best, Nomiki was far more than her professional accomplishments. She was a deeply thoughtful, loving, and wise presence in the lives of others. She approached life with compassion and selflessness, always putting others before herself, and cared deeply about all living things, the world around her, and the importance of fairness and dignity for all. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandsons, who brought her immense pride and joy. She found happiness in books and music, in gardening (especially her gardenias), in travel and new experiences, and in spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Emmanuel J. Botzolakis, and his wife, Dr. Liya Beyderman; her grandsons, Stefan and Adrian Botzolakis; her mother, Catherine A. Bouloubassis; her brothers, Nickolas A. Bouloubassis and his wife, Ethel, and Michael A. Bouloubassis and his wife, Sheila; and her nieces and nephews, including Aristidis N. Bouloubassis; Aristidis M. Bouloubassis and his wife, Dr. Urania Dagalakis, and their sons, Mihalis and Giorgios; David Bouloubassis and his spouse, Erica Ostrowski; Dr. Kalliope Roberts and her husband, Christian; and George Bouloubassis and his wife, Caroline Kantis. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Weitzel and Carol Kohfeld, and their families, including nephew Dr. William Frederick Weitzel, III and his wife, Cheryl; niece Reta Gilmore; nephew Kurt Kohfeld and his wife, Sandy; and niece Dr. Karen Kohfeld and her husband, Klaus Rathe; as well as her beloved Border Doodle, Ginger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Weitzel, and her father, Aristidis N. Bouloubassis.
Mrs. Weitzel will lie in state on Tuesday, April 28, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2504 Cub Hill Rd, Parkville, MD, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, with the funeral service to follow. Interment will take place in the church cemetery immediately afterward.
