Obituary

On April 11, 2026, Nancy Merritt (nee Evans), beloved wife of Robert E. Merritt; devoted mother of Dean Merritt and his wife Anne; loving grandmother of Evan, Carter, and Benett; dear sister of Jane Dinan, Pat Evans, and Mary Wood; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Nancy grew up in Pikesville Maryland with her 3 sisters.  She attended St Charles Borromeo Grade School and Seton High School.  She worked at Burke Savage Tire Company in Baltimore while in high school and after graduation she began work for The Maryland Public Service Commission as a secretary. At her retirement in 1985 she was serving as a department head. After her retirement she volunteered at Meals on Wheels delivering meals. Always a reader she developed a strong interest in nonfiction books and was a member of a number of book clubs. Nancy was always positive, friendly and joyful.

Friends may call at the family owned Ruck-Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Road (at beltway exit 26) on Sunday , April 19, 2026, 2-4 PM, where a funeral service will be held on  Monday, April 20, 2026 at 10 AM. Interment Private.
