Nancy N. Alvey passed away peacefully in Parkville, MD on October 10, 2025. Born on May 6, 1927, Nancy's 98 years were spent as a resident of Baltimore and the surrounding area. After completing one year at Goucher College, she married her childhood sweetheart, Courtney, in 1946 and taught kindergarten until starting a family to whom she was devoted. She enjoyed sailing and traveling with her husband, singing in the choir, working on jigsaw puzzles, playing bridge and mahjong, and evaluating jewelry for the Treasure Chest at Oakcrest Village.

She is survived by children Ginny Studley and her husband David, Janice Bosley and her husband Chuck, and Mark Alvey and his wife Kim, grandchildren Melinda Studley and her fiance Eric, Ken Bosley and his wife Ashley, Erin McCartin and her husband Brian, Brian Alvey and his wife Macy and Chris Alvey, and great grandchildren Ben Bosley, Victoria McCartin, William McCartin, Katherine Banks, and Erica Bosley. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, L. Vera Nicholson and William K. Nicholson, her brother, William K. Nicholson Jr, her sister, Martha N. Bortner, and her loving husband of 77 years, Courtney D. Alvey.

Internment for Nancy and Courtney will be at Druid Ridge Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Crest Residence Care Fund or Lions Vision Research Center.
