It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael (Mike) Andrew Ridge on July 13, 2025. Mike goes before the love of his life for 39 years Carol Lynn Ridge (nee Jurey) as her beloved husband and served as the devoted father of Mathew Alexander and Jonathon David Ridge. He is predeceased by his father Arthur George Ridge. Mike is also survived by his mother Kathleen Ferry Ridge; loving sisters Mary Heather Frank and her husband Pat and Susan Elizabeth Shashok; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Mike was a devoted Christian, husband, father and friend, a Naval Officer, an Eagle Scout, an accomplished engineer, a committed public servant and a passionate mentor.

Born March 31, 1965, he graduated from Neshaminy High School, in Langhorne, PA, in 1983, where he ran cross-country as well as winter and spring track. He was a member of the honor society and played in the County Orchestra. Mike achieved the rank of Eagle Scout as a sophomore in high school. In 1986 he graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, with an Electrical Engineering degree and was commissioned as a Naval Officer where he served for four years.

After his military service, Mike started his career in the private sector as a manager with Johnson & Johnson. He also worked with Proctor & Gamble and the Maryland Technology Extension Service. He achieved his master's at George Washington University in 2001 and entered into service supporting DoD as an Engineer and Embedded Systems Security Architect with ESI, MITRE, Batelle and Draper. Being a man of principle and passion, Mike founded Clarity Cyber LLC in 2019 and remained a servant leader to his team and the community.

In his "spare time", he volunteered in many capacities including: Instructing others in CISSP certifications; assisting at high school robotics competitions and as a lifelong mentor to developing Boy Scouts wherein he started a Scouting Venture Crew specializing in tech and robotics in Baltimore City. He was passionate about helping to create paths for students to learn technology in a way that would lead to groundbreaking and exciting careers. In 2024 Mike was awarded for the detailed work Clarity Cyber offered in creating and participating in Baltimore Counties Apprenticeship Program.

Mike enjoyed spending time with family, hiking and biking. He was a man filled with love, life, joy, and drive. He never lost focus on the importance of being principled and passionate in everything he did. He was a nurturing soul and a strong role model; quick to make friends and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He touched the lives of so many. He was a man to look up to, a leader, and a friend to count on. He will be dearly missed on this earthly plane, but we look forward to seeing him again in the heavenly realm.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 2, 2025, 1PM to 4PM at the family owned Ruck-Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Road (at beltway exit 26). Interment private.
