On March 31, 2026, Mary Regina Smith (nee Asplen) died peacefully in Parkville, Maryland. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband George Charles Smith, her parents Brennan Asplen and Eileen Funk Asplen and by her siblings John Asplen and Eileen Dawson. Mary is survived by her devoted sons Charles M. Smith (Jeanne), William J. Smith (Sandra Lopez) and Christopher J. Smith (Paula Brocato). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Christopher, Jason, Chandler and Michael and by her great grandchildren Paris, Mac, Piper, Summer, Scottie, Leo and Penelope, and by her siblings Brennan Asplen and Joseph Asplen. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the family-owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 York Road Towson, Maryland 21204 on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 2PM-4PM and 6PM-8PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Church of the Immaculate Conception 200 Ware Avenue Towson, Maryland 21204 on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 11AM.
