Mary Frances
Ashworth
d. Mar 27, 2025
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our dear sister Mary Frances Ashworth on March 27, 2025, at 78 years of age. Mary Fran leaves us with the blessings of her love and devotion for family. She will remain always in the hearts of her family and friends.
Born on September 29, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland, Mary Fran was the daughter of Frances L. (Teller) Frey and Frederick H. Frey. She grew up in Overlea and graduated from Catholic High School and the St. Joseph School of Nursing. Mary Fran then travelled to California to begin her nursing career. It was there that she met her future husband, the late David C. Ashworth. She cherished many wonderful years in California, especially the beautiful beaches, shopping, and gardening. In 1996, after the passing of her dear husband, Mary Fran returned to Maryland and settled in Owings Mills. There she continued her nursing career at St. Agnes Hospital, while reconnecting with old and dear friends. Her love and dedication to her family led to many Christmas Eve celebrations at her home. We were blessed to spend our annual family vacation with her on the beaches of Ocean City, Maryland. Gathered together with her siblings, nieces and nephews, we all relived our childhood memories of our family vacations on Third Street. These memories inspire us as we reflect on her love for all of us.
Mary Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, as well as her parents. She is also survived by seven siblings, Frederick L. Frey (Brenda), Donna J. Hild (Jeffrey), Thomas M. Frey (Betty Ann), David R. Frey (Pamela Breslin), Mary Rita Reahl (Michael), Barbara A. Zink, and Joanne Krebs (Michael). She was pre-deceased by one additional sister, Margaret T. Frey. Mary Frances is survived by 16 nieces and nephews, as well as 19 great nieces and nephews.
