Maria Mier Gestido, 93, of Lineboro, MD passed away on Feb. 3rd.

Maria was born in Asturias, Spain, the daughter of Antonio Mier and Adela Fernandez. She emigrated from Spain to Cuba and later to the United States.

Maria married Eugenio Gestido and they eventually settled in Baltimore, Maryland where their son, Eduardo Gestido, was born.

Maria was co-owner and operator of Mariol Salon on Eastern Avenue for 40 years where she worked daily alongside her sister Olga Santome.

Maria loved her family and was at the center of her community; she loved fiercely and treated everyone with kindness.

Remaining to cherish Maria's memory are her son and daughter-in-law Eduardo and Catherine Gestido, grandchildren, Nicholas and Cory Gestido, Danielle and Adam Kuhn; great-grandchildren, Ada Gestido, Keelan and Everly Kuhn; her sister, Olga Santome; her nieces and nephews: Soriano, Lisa, Michael and Samuel Santome; Michelle, John, Ryan and Kyleigh Waugh; Ramona Gestido; Rachel and Kevin Bonnell; Javier and Melissa Gestido..

Friends may visit at the Ruck Towson Funeral Home, 1050 York Rd, Towson, MD 21204 on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 2-4 & 6-8pm and where the funeral service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11am. The entombment will follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
