Margaret F. Goodman (nee Cortezi), 88, passed away on October 19, 2026. Beloved wife of the late William "Bill" Goodman; devoted sister of Ralph N. Cortezi, Sr. and his wife Lynn; dear aunt of Marie Forrestal and her husband James, Jeanne Kinneally and her husband James, Laura Finlay, Nick Cortezi, Jay Cortezi and his wife Shelley, and Meg Cortezi and her wife Leslie Bellavia; also survived by great nieces and great nephews. Margaret and Bill were proud Baltimoreans who loved the Orioles, and she once threw out the first pitch at Camden Yards. Avid international travelers, they filled their home with treasures from their journeys, and she loved an evening at a Broadway show. Holidays were her stage. Her family will remember her Easter celebrations, with a personal letter from the Easter Bunny and a backyard egg hunt, the Christmas train village she and Bill built each year alongside their nieces and nephews, and her crab cakes at cherished family gatherings. A graduate of the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, Margaret devoted her career to education, working at Fifth District Elementary and finishing her career as principal at Pinewood Elementary.
Margaret was a docent with the Baltimore City Museum Society, and her love of history came alive as she spent years tracing the Cortezi family ancestry back through Italy- a labor of love she hoped future generations would carry on. She and Bill traveled to cheer on their nieces and nephews at sporting events, performances, and graduations, and she was always the first to send a birthday card. Those who l graceful hands as she calmly guided the people she loved.
