On December 12, 2024, Kevin Pierson Gavin, passed away suddenly as a result of cardiac arrest while boating on the Eastern Shore.

Kevin, a lifelong Baltimorean, was born in 1959 to Michael B. Gavin and Nancy W. Gavin. He graduated from Boys' Latin School in 1978 and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration at Loyola University of Maryland. Kevin was a corporate benefits insurance executive who worked with Willse and Associates and Laslett, Blue and Associates Healthplans, Inc., before founding his own firm, Tidewater Benefits Systems, LLC. In recent years, Kevin also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Patients' Edge, Inc.

Kevin gave endless love and support to his wife, Deborah Bazzell Gavin, and his two children, Michael B. Gavin and Grace Gavin Kennedy. Kevin was a gifted athlete who excelled in multiple sports while in high school and was a member of the Washington College lacrosse team prior to attending Loyola University. He was an avid outdoorsman who grew up hunting , crabbing and fishing on the Eastern Shore. For the past 30 years, Kevin co-owned a cabin on Elliott Island where he spent many happy hours on the Chesapeake Bay. Kevin also was a fitness enthusiast who kept a routine of distance swimming, biking and lifting at his gym..

Kevin is survived by his wife, his children, and his son-in-law, Kyle Kennedy. He is also survived by his sisters, Kelly Gavin Brooks and Kathleen O. Gavin, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
