Kenneth Wayne
Geiger
d. Jun 8, 2026
Kenneth Wayne Geiger April 07, 1954 – June 08, 2026
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Kenneth Wayne Geiger, age 72, of Lutherville MD. Ken was a gentle soul with a kind heart and deep love of family and friends.
Born in 1954 to Paul and Sarah Geiger, Ken was the 5th of 6 children. Ken grew up as part of a large and close family in Hamilton. He attended St Dominic's school, and then Calvert Hall, graduating in 1972. Ken earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University, building a distinguished career in Radiology spanning more than three decades working at various hospitals and medical centers in the Baltimore area.
Ken's life was filed with the simple joys of family and friends, satisfaction of a job well done, camping, photography, music, biking, and motorcycles. He was always inclined to take the longer, path less taken, and make an adventure of it. Ken loved the outdoors and sports, especially our local Ravens and Orioles teams. A close group of friends, aptly named the Knuckleheads, stayed close throughout his life and were a source of constant support through the years. Ken also enjoyed participating in and the comradery of the York Manor horseshoe league.
On June 8, Ken passed away after a long struggle with Huntington's disease. Although Huntington's is difficult and devastating illness, Ken faced it with great courage and a sense of humor. While HD brought many challenges, Ken did not let his limitations define him and he enjoyed his life as best he could with a Klondike bar in hand. He is survived by his wife, Mary Geiger. He was a loving father to son Matt DeYoung and Matt's wife Laura DeYoung, daughter Beth Geiger and her partner, Michael Midyette. He was a proud grandfather of Elise and Oliver DeYoung. Ken is predeceased by his parents and his five siblings, Diane, Paul, David, Nancy, and Mark.
Friends and family are welcome to visit and share memories of Ken at the Ruck Towson Funeral Home located at 1050 York Road on Tuesday, June 16, from 3 to 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Ken's memory to the Huntington's Disease Society of America at hdsa.org . The HDSA has committed over $20 million to fund research since 1999, with the goal of finding effective treatments to slow HD progression.
