Jovita "Carmen" Lay of Towson, Maryland, passed away peacefully in her home on December 17, 2025. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Sandra, and a devoted grandmother to her two grandchildren, Cameron and Natalie, whom she enjoyed caring for. She is also survived by her son in law, Christopher; her older sister, Mireya; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Carmen was born in Santiago, Chile on March 15, 1941. She married Chen Kau Lay in 1966 and immigrated to Baltimore in the 1970's. She enjoyed sewing and knitting, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and family. She will be remembered for her personality, generosity, and love. She will be missed and cherished by all.

Family and friends are welcome to the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home (Beltway exit 26) on Saturday, December 27 from 3-6 PM. A funeral service to start at 6 PM. Interment private.
