MURK, JOSEPH "JAY" R.

On September 5, 2026, Joseph "Jay" Richard Murk passed away at his home in Parkville, MD. He is the beloved son of Kathleen Marie Murk (nee Roemer) and the late Richard Harvey Murk; devoted father of Amanda Lorek and her husband Zackary; cherished grandfather of Adelynn Marie Lorek and Bennett Cole Lorek; loving brother of Sharon A. Smith and her husband William, Michelle M. Murk, and the late Cynthia L. Murk; dear uncle of Mary Ellen Fromm, Emily L. Smith, Alexandra N. Lijewski, and Hayley M. Lijewski. Joseph was also survived by many other loving family and friends.

Friends may visit at the Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 York Rd., Towson, MD on Thursday, September 10th from 2-4 & 6-8pm and where the funeral service will be held on Friday, September 11th at  10:30am. The interment will follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society or the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center.
