John G. Roemer passed away peacefully on September 11, 2011 at Caroline Nursing Home. He was born June 28, 1920 in Baltimore, MD, the son of the late John and Marie Krone Roemer. John is survived by his wife of 68 years, Helen Simms Roemer, two children, John Simms Roemer and Anne Marie Roemer Langmack and her husband Holger Christian Langmack, III. He was the proud grandfather of Rebecca Roemer Von Schilcher and her husband Stephan, Rachel Roemer, Lisa Roemer, Melissa Langmack and Michael Langmack. Mr. Roemer was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Charles Roemer and three sisters , Theresa Witowski, Rose Colburn and Kay Macko. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He received a scholarship and graduated from Calvert Hall in Baltimore, MD. He served as a medic in the Army from 1943 until 1947. He was Vice President and General Manager of Maryland Shipbuilding & Drydock until his retirement in 1985 when he moved to the Eastern Shore of MD. He was a parishioner of Saints Peter & and Paul Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Martingham Men's Golf Association and the Miles River Yacht Club.

A Vigil Service will be held at the family owned Leonard J. Ruck, Inc. Funeral Home, 5305 Harford Road (at Echodale) in Baltimore, MD 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 16th. Friends may visit Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m . A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church 4414 Frankford Avenue, Baltimore, MD on Saturday September 17th at 11:00 a.m. Interment Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
