Joan Collisson Murr was born November30 1933, in Bridgeton NJ, and died, in Timonium MD March 23, 2025, at 91, of metastatic cancer.

Joan was born in Bridgeton to N. Harvey Collisson and Marjorie Schoemaker Collisson. After her mother's death, Joan was raised by her grandmother and relatives and graduated from high school in Ocean City, NJ.

She attended Bucknell University where she met and married Martin McKibbin in 1952. The couple moved to Baltimore, had three girls and later divorced. While launching a career, she raised Suzanne, Lisa and Marjorie.

Joan served as an admissions officer at Johns Hopkins University and at Western Maryland College, then launched a career as a real estate agent at Long & Foster.

In April 1974, she married the love of her life, Brown Murr, a chemistry professor at Hopkins. The two enjoyed an enduring 50 year marriage, sharing tennis and golf at home and summers  in Ocean City, NJ. They enjoyed daily beach walks, topped off with martinis when the beach patrol wasn't looking.

She is survived by Brown, Lisa Smith (Wesley), Marjorie McKibbin (Michael Kaufman), Andrew Murr (Amy Forbes), Peter Murr (Angela Lykos); 9 grandchildren and step grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A private family celebration of Joan's life will be held in the summer.
