Jennie Marie Sapia Schuman passed away Monday, September 24, 2012, at her home in Drums, PA. She was 65. She was born in Baltimore, MD to Mary (Liberto) Sapia and Larry Sapia, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Vince Schuman and her son Patrick L. Gray and his wife Lisa M. Gray of Glen Allen, Virginia. She was the proud 'Mom-Mom' of Virginia R. Gray. She is also survived by three siblings, Margaret Modesto (Edward), Salvatore Angelo Sapia, and Angelo Lawrence Sapia (Jennifer).
She will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends.
Jennie graduated from Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School in 1966. She continued her education at SUNY Oswego where she studied Drama and had many roles in local community theatre productions.
She was a passionate advocate for animal welfare and was the Director of the Oswego County Animal Welfare League (OCAWL) for many years where she rescued, fostered and placed hundreds of animals for adoption.

Friends may call at the family owned Duda-Ruck Funeral Home of Dundalk, Inc. 7922 Wise Ave. on Wednesday and Thursday 3-5 and 7-9 PM. Catholic prayer service will be held on Thursday at 8:00 PM. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite animal welfare organization.
