Jean Stamm, (nee Amato), of Towson, Maryland passed peacefully at home on October 5, 2024, surrounded by family. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Edward, daughter, Lori Krausz (Kristopher), grandsons Eric and Darren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Sarah and John Amato Jr, daughter, Caryn, and brother John Amato, III.

Jean's family and friends were her life, and she adored spending time with her husband, daughter, son-in- law, and grandchildren.

Born and raised in Highlandtown, Jean worked for many years as a secretary at the U.S. Public Health Service at Wyman Park before getting married in 1966.

After marriage, Jean was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.

A lifelong Catholic, Jean was an avid volunteer at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and the Institute of Notre Dame. Jean helped others without being asked whether by offering a kind ear or baking for her friends and family. She was a welcome addition to any gathering with her famous homemade sauce and meatballs, Italian cookies or sought after cheesecake. Her presentation was only rivaled by the taste of her delicious food.

Jean enjoyed Maryland crabs and family summer vacations in Wildwood New Jersey, where she had been going since she was young child and playing the slots in Atlantic City.

Friends and family may call at the Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Rd.  on Tuesday, October 15, from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 16 at 9am at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Heart Church in Towson. Interment at Gardens of Faith Cemetery. Luncheon to follow.
