Obituary

Janice McCrory, a former Assistant Vice President of T. Rowe Price Investment Services, passed away on April 12, 2026 at her home in Towson with her family and her beloved rescue golden retriever Guinness by her side. Born in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, she attended the University of Pittsburgh and the Maryland Institute College of Art.  Janice was 87.

Prior to joining T. Rowe Price, Janice was a columnist for Food and Fine Living, a local Baltimore magazine.  In doing so, she covered New York's Spring and Fall Fashion Weeks, which featured the newest looks from famed American designers.  She also founded Creative Candids, a company that offered an alternative to "studio" shots, and focused instead on casual outdoor photography of children, pets, and families.

Following Creative Candids, Janice founded The Write Stuff, a service that enabled her to continue with her love of writing, which eventually led her to T. Rowe Price in 1982.

She continued full-time with the firm until relocating to Scottsdale, Arizona in 2003, where she assumed a freelance role with T. Rowe Price—a role that continued until her early 80's.

According to Janice, "I dearly loved the southwest and had so many friends there.  I only intended to stay for 10 years or so. But before I knew it, I was there for 15 years, and my wonderful grandkids were growing up so fast, my heart was calling me back to Baltimore. So back I came!"

Janice is survived by her beloved family, Alex Wilkes (Chuck), Brooke McCrory, Devon Wilkes, Mallory Wilkes, and her brother, Robert Dubbs of Bethel Park. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to BARCS as Janice was a huge fan of shelter dogs like her beloved Leo. https://www.barcs.org/donate
