Kimmel

In Loving Memory of Jane Curley Kimmel
June 3, 1935 - September 7, 2025
Jane Curley Kimmel, of Marriottsville, Md. passed away peacefully in her home on September 7, 2025
Born on June 3, 1935, in Boston, Massachusetts, Jane Curley Kimmel lived a life full of love, family, and adventure. She married her high school sweetheart, John M. Curley, Jr. in 1955. They relocated to Baltimore in 1963, where they raised their four children in the Homeland neighborhood.
Jane was active in both the Loyola College (now Loyola University Maryland) and the Baltimore Country Club communities, forming lasting friendships and connections. Some of her favorite things to do were bowling, staying active through exercise, and attending to her home and gardens. When Jane was not outside mowing her lawn or gardening, she could be found in the kitchen baking her famous brownies or tollhouse cookies.
Predeceased by her first husband, Jane found love again and married J. Russell Kimmel in 1990. Together, they shared many happy years filled with winters in Fort Lauderdale, cruises, time with family, and watching their grandchildren grow.
In 2016, she moved to Howard County to be closer to family following the death of her husband Russ in 2013. There, she embraced a new chapter of life—enjoying sitting outside, greeting the neighborhood dogs with treats, and sharing time with neighbors.
Jane was a compassionate and giving person. She was always willing to contribute to causes close to her heart and those around her. She was a woman who took great pride in everything she did and made a lasting impression on everyone she met. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Jane is survived by her four children John M. Curley, III (Cathy), Robert E. Curley (Lynn), Jane C. Hogge (Bryan) and Janet C. Menton (late husband Thomas); her nine grandchildren: John M. Curley IV, Michael R. Curley (Andrea), Bryan W. Curley (Jennifer), Jessica M. Front, Jane C. Flynn (Patrick), Daniel J. Hogge, Lindsay M. Tower (Kammler), Joseph C. Menton, Edward J. Menton (Ella Marie); and her siblings John M. Walker, Jr. and Richard Walker. She is predeceased by her late brother, Joseph Walker. Jane is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
A memorial mass to celebrate Jane's life will be held, Monday, September 15, 2025, at St. Joseph's Parish, at 10 a.m. (100 Church Lane, Cockeysville, MD 21030).
