On December 5, 2025, James Rudolph "Rudy" Heffler passed away peacefully in Parkville, MD. He is the beloved husband of Phyllis Ann Heffler (nee Byerley); devoted father of David A. Heffler and his wife Christina and the late Michael J. Heffler; loving grandfather of Melissa A. Heffler and her partner James Asbury and the late Brittany Heffler; cherished great-grandfather of Michael Asbury and David Asbury; dear brother of Donald L Heffler  and his partner Velda Brewster and dear sister Gloria A. Cross.

A celebration of James's life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, 11 AM at Woodbrook Baptist Church, 25 Stevenson Lane, Towson, Maryland 21204, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall.
