On November 4, 2026, Howard Lee Stroterhoff, ll., passed away in Baltimore, Maryland. Survived by his wife Heather Higgins. Howard known as “Howdy” graduated from Friends School in Baltimore, and attended Tulane University. Howdy was an avid sailor on the Chesapeake Bay. He raced on the Bay for more than 30 years, on his ¾ ton Carter, Intuition, and crewed on many other boats through the years. Raced with Baltimore City Yacht Club (BCYA), CBYRA, EPYRA,NPSA, RACRA, St Mary’s College, Glenn Marr, Popskaut, and Oxford Racing Assoc. Notable wins include winning first place in The Governor’s Cup in PHRF B-2 class in 2002, and 2005, and being Fleet High Point Champion 1992, 1994, and 1996 (PHRF B, Region II - BCYA).In lieu of flowers: Sailing | Maryland | Baltimore County Sailing Center
