Gwendolyn "Wendy" Evering Baker, age 64, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Johns Hopkins Hospital.  Born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 5th, 1960, she was the daughter of George C. Evering Sr and Mary Lee Evering.  She is survived by her husband; Richard B. Baker, her daughter; Heather A. Martin (Christopher), her brother; George C. "Chris" Evering (Mary), her granddaughter; Riley M. Martin, her beloved pets; Raven, Tango and Figaro, and her large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Michael Evering and Douglas Evering.

Wendy lived an extremely rewarding life as a loving mother, wife, sister, daughter, GiGi, friend and librarian/Educator. For over 30 years, Wendy worked as a Librarian in various settings, including Baltimore International Culinary College, Enoch Pratt Free Library, and Baltimore County Public Schools. She received her Bachelors Degree from Towson University, and obtained two Masters degrees through the University of Maryland, College Park and Notre Dame of Maryland University. Wendy was an avid lover of animals and saving their lives, along with making their world a better place. She loved playing the piano, ballet, art, and ice skating. Wendy also loved working with children and spending time with her granddaughter. She was truly a bright light in so many lives.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21st from 2-5pm at Ruck Funeral Home in Towson, MD, with a service to be held at a later date.  In addition to or in lieu of flowers, please make donations by check to Jarrettsville Veterinary Center / Good Sam Fund
