On March 17, 2026, Georgia Sims Carson, beloved wife of the late William Chapin Carson; devoted mother of Georgia Chapin Carson and Laura Carson Banes and her husband John W. Banes; loving grandmother of Elizabeth Banes and her husband Connor Kerpius, William Banes, and Molly Banes.
Georgia Carson was raised primarily in ex-urban Chicago and moved to St. Louis after college to teach English. She met her husband, William C. Carson (Bill) and settled in suburban Chicago to raise her family before relocating to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1992 where they lived very happily until they moved to Baltimore in 2018 to be nearer to their daughters. She and Bill were designated Living Treasures in New Mexico for their work in the public schools and were cited by Senator Paul Simon in "52 Ways to Make a Difference".
Education: Vassar College, AB in English (Creative Writing), 1952.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. David's Episcopal Church, 4700 Roland Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21210 on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11 AM. Interment private.
