Dr. Freidoon Malek passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2026. That weekend, he had celebrated his birthday with his family, including his only granddaughter, who traveled from Florida to be with him. His final days were filled with their love and happiness. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirin Malek, daughter, Laleh Malek Afzali and son-in-law Amir Afzali, son Amir Malek and granddaughter Petra Srnec.

After graduating from medical school in Iran, Dr. Malek came to the United States to complete his medical training and became a surgeon. He practiced medicine for over 50 years with a deep passion for providing his patients with the best medical patient care, mentoring fellow physicians, and ensuring that he leveraged the latest technologies for their betterment. His colleagues and patients knew him as a skilled, trusted, and compassionate physician. Even after retiring, he remained dedicated to the medical profession, caring for patients and sharing his vast knowledge with other doctors.

Dr. Malek will be remembered for his devotion to his family and friends, his care for his patients, and the trust and affection he earned throughout his life.
