Obituary

Florence Maryanna Gore De Libera
March 10, 1933 to August 5, 2025

Born of Polish immigrants in the city of Baltimore, Maryland, Florence was raised in the Catholic faith and attended St. Casimir's School in Canton. Florence attended the Strayer Business School and worked for several law firms in the city of Baltimore. She married Victor Paul De Libera in the year 1959. After the birth of her three children, she dedicated her life to raising her family.

Flo was interested in accounting, finance, and had a great appreciation for higher education and later went on to work for Goucher College and the University of Maryland. She retired from working as an administrative assistant at the Office of University Counsel at The University of Maryland Baltimore  in 1998.

In early retirement  she enjoyed traveling abroad including experiencing a religious retreat to the city of  Medugorje.  She had a close group of female friends who were members of the Sparrows Point Country Club, where she enjoyed playing bridge.

Flo also had a great appreciation for theater and enjoyed going to New York as well as being an avid supporter and subscriber of the local theaters in Baltimore. She enjoyed reading, and had a preference for mystery novels and courtroom dramas. She maintained her Catholic faith and was a member of the churches of St. Rita's and St. Casimir's.

Predeceased by her husband Victor in 1989, Florence is survived by her three children: Victor De Libera and  his wife, Margo, Judy De Libera and her husband, Danny Stewart, and Adele De Libera, and seven grandchildren: Isabelle Witt and her husband Tyler Witt and their son Cole, Camille Stewart, Victor Paul De Libera, Dominic d'Agostino, Gabrielle De Libera, Derek d'Agostino, and Isabella De Libera, and her brother: William Robert Gore and sister-in-laws: Robin Jarvis and Dolores Stump. She is also preceded in death by her parents William J. Gore and Josephine Gore (nee Bocianowski) and by her sister Marcella Collins.

She will be remembered by those who loved her for her feisty attitude, her strong-willed spirit and her tireless love of family.

Family and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 11:00AM at St. Casimir Catholic Church 2800 O'Donnell Street Baltimore, MD 21224. Entombment to follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery 6515 Boston Street Baltimore, MD 21224. In lieu of flowers, the family will appreciate memorial contributions to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105 www.stjude.org
