On October 5, 2009, Estelle B. LaPointe, affectionately known to her many friends as "Jerrie," died after an illness of several months. Born in 1914, she was a lifelong resident of Baltimore. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles A. LaPointe, originally of Montreal. Jerrie was an original owner in the Lake Falls neighborhood of Baltimore County, and was beloved by the generations of her neighbors who came to know her over the 61 years she lived there. She worked for many years at the Homewood Campus of the Johns Hopkins University, serving as the Assistant to the Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, and then as Coordinator of Student Affairs. Taking great pleasure in the messages from her former students who sent her cards and letter, she always responded with a cheery note. After her retirement, she received several awards from the University, honoring her many years of dedicated service.

Jerrie will be greatly missed by her many neighbors and loving friends. A Memorial Service will be held at St. David's Episcopal Church, Roland Park on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 11:00 AM.
