Obituary

On October 18, 2025, Eleanor Marie Scheper Ervin, 82, beloved wife of 62 years of Klon Randol Ervin; devoted mother of Jennifer E. Ehrlich and her husband Ray, Timothy C. Ervin and his wife Amy Hott, Andrew J. Ervin and his partner Amy Evans, and the late Stephanie J. Ervin, who was married to Jerry Sayewich; loving grandmother of Jonathan, Jamie, Caroline, Madeline, Matt, Matthew, Jillian, Samuel, Nicholas, Jacob and Tucker; dear sister of Barbara Lynch, the late Charles James Scheper, Jr., and the late Anthony Scheper. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Norie, a.k.a. "MooMoo" as she was affectionately known to many, passed away suddenly yet peacefully at home at the age of 82. She was born, raised and spent much of her childhood on her grandparents' farm, where she enjoyed being a member of the 4-H Club.

Norie graduated from Towson Catholic High School in 1960. She and Randol were married in October, 1963, and they started a family right away. Norie worked as a clerk stenographer in the Biophysics Laboratory at Edgewood Arsenal. In 1966, she and her department were awarded for their outstanding work in evaluating and handling the rifle used in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Randol and Norie designed and built their forever home in 1975 on a parcel of her grandparents' farm. Norie named the property "Emmariel" for the three women who had owned it, she being the "el" at the end.

Norie had many interests for which she never had enough time, including sewing, reading, trying new recipes, and keeping meticulously-detailed records of everything imaginable. She was completely devoted to her family and truly had the biggest, sweetest, kindest heart. She was also witty, clever, and creative. Her needs were simple and few, and she lived and loved with sincerity.

Norie/MooMoo/Mom will be missed more than words can say.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
