Obituary

Elaine Louise Neely was born on August 9, 1938, in Gettysburg, PA. After graduating from Gettysburg High School in 1955, she moved to Baltimore to attend Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1959. Later, she returned to Hopkins to complete their Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program in 1977. Focusing on children's health, Elaine worked in Baltimore County schools, private schools and clinics for many years.

While at Hopkins, Elaine met Wayne Schelle and they married in 1958. Elaine and Wayne settled in Towson and enjoyed spending time in Oxford, Maryland and Captiva Island, Florida.

Elaine was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and served as an Advisory Council Member to the Johns Hopkins University and the School of Nursing. She also has been a member of the Homewood Museum Advisory Board. She participated in various philanthropic activities at Johns Hopkins University and at other local institutions.

She is survived by her sons, Scott (and his ex-wife Anne) and Craig (and his wife Beth), grandchildren Drew, Alex, Wyatt, and Amelia and sisters Delores Hall, Sue Kessel and Kathy Reider.

The family will receive friends at the family owned Ruck-Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Road (at beltway exit 26) on Friday, August 8, from 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM. A funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, August 9 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, at 1401 Carrollton Avenue, Towson, Maryland 21204.
