On June 19, 2025, Doretta Flury (nee Frock), beloved wife of the late George Flury, dear sister of the late Anita Kemp (nee Frock), devoted mother of Stevan Flury and his wife Colleen, Debora Kick and her late husband Ronald, David Flury and his wife Penelope; loving grandmother of Michael Flury and his wife Chrissie, Shannon Neidhardt and her husband William, Ethan Kick, Sam Kick, Hannah Dauses and her husband, Christopher, Charlotte Flury, loving great-grandmother eagerly awaiting the arrival of Baby Girl Dauses. Doretta is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Born in Baltimore, Doretta (Dot) grew up in Hamilton with her late parents, Emilie and Wilbur, along with her late older sister, Anita. She attended Seton High School and met her late husband, George (Bud), when they were 15 years old. After high school, Dot began working for the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company, while Bud served in the Navy. They married in 1951. After the arrival of Stevan, a year later, Debora, and nine years later, David, she was a devoted mother and homemaker. She began volunteering in the St. Ursula School Library and eventually, worked part-time as a librarian at Loyola Blakefield. She enjoyed crafting, especially sewing and embroidery. In their retirement, Dot and Bud enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends and family, and taking art classes. She touched many with her generous and giving nature, and her family meant everything to her.
Family and friends will honor Doretta's life at Ruck Towson Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 1, from 5 pm to 8 pm. A funeral liturgy will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday, July 2, at Church of the Nativity, Timonium. Interment will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Rosedale. Memorial contributions in Doretta's name may be made to Loyola Blakefield - https://www.loyolablakefield.org/make-a-gift.
