Catherine Mae Budreski
Catherine Mae Budreski passed away on October 27, 2026, at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, following a battle with sepsis. Her body fought hard, holding on as long as it could so she could watch her family grow. We are grateful for the time she had with them and for the love that surrounded her until the end.
Born on July 21, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Joseph and Helen Michael, Catherine spent much of her life in her hometown. She also called Florida home for several years before eventually returning to the city where her story began.
Throughout her working life, Catherine dedicated herself to serving others. She began her career in bartending and the hospitality industry before moving into retail, where she continued her lifelong commitment to helping and serving people. As a single mother, she worked tirelessly to provide a beautiful life for her boys, giving them tremendous love, unwavering support, and every opportunity she could. She was a strong-minded, determined woman who knew her own mind, but above all, she loved her family deeply. Her strength and devotion to those closest to her were defining parts of who she was.
Catherine found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved caring for her orchids, cheering on her beloved Baltimore Ravens, and playing bingo when she wanted to have a little fun. She also enjoyed crocheting, creating beautiful blankets and other handmade treasures for the people she loved. Each piece was a gift of her time, care, and affection.
In her later years, Catherine's granddaughters became the center of her world. She loved Annastazia and Abiqail fiercely, spoke of them often, and proudly shared their accomplishments with others. Her
love for them was immeasurable, and being their grandmother was a role she cherished deeply.
Catherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Budreski; her son, Michael White; her parents, Joseph and Helen Michael; and her beloved dogs, Jazzy and Ginger.
She is survived by her son, Jason White; her daughter-in-law, Annette White; her beloved granddaughters, Annastazia Reynolds and Abigail White; her sister, Terri Albert; and her niece, Erica Albert. Jason, Annette, and Terri were lovingly by Catherine's side as she took her final breath.
Though Catherine is no longer physically with us, we find comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with the family and beloved dogs who went before her. We take solace in the thought that she is now at peace and free from pain.
A small, private, service has been held with immediate family to honor Catherine's life and memory.
As we remember Catherine, may we carry a piece of her with us. The next time a cardinal catches your eye as it flies by, take a moment to think of Catherine and hold her close in your heart.
