On January 16, 2026, Carol Ann Zander (nee Clemsen) passed away peacefully in Baltimore, MD. She was the beloved fiancé of Pete Duda; devoted mother of Mark Deise and his wife Rose and Jennifer Zinn and her late husband Jesse; loving grandmother of Jack Deise, Julia Deise, Eleanor Zinn, William Zinn, Aidan Zinn, and Clara Zinn; cherished sister of the late Ronald Clemsen.

Carol was a graduate of Seton High School in Baltimore, MD, and Towson University.    She held a master's degree in Education and devoted her life to teaching.  Carol was a loving mother and cherished her role as "Grammy" to her grandchildren.  In her retirement in Millsboro, DE, she was an advocate for animal welfare and sponsored cats in the Millsboro spay and neuter program. She also volunteered at the local ASPCA.  Her hobbies included sewing and crafting, as well as enjoying the beach and her boat.  She even became an avid golfer.   Carol was busy, but always had time for friends, and she had many.   Above all this, her family was very special to her, and she made every visit with her grandchildren memorable.

Friends may visit at the Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 York Rd. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 6:00-8:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, 200 Ware Ave, Towson, MD 21204 on Thursday at 11am. The interment will follow at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens.
