On October 16, 2025 Barbara Maxine Shoemaker passed away at her home. Barbara was born on September 5, 1934 in Richmond, VA to her late parents Everet G. Walters and Helen L. Walters (nee Bane). Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved late husband John James Shoemaker, Sr. and step-son the late John James Shoemaker, Jr. Barbara is survived her daughters Novella M. Davis-Simms, Katey E. Maxwell; step-daughters Linda A. Shoemaker, Jean E. Dickey, and Eileen J. Shoemaker-Lester. Barbara is also survived by ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

Friends may visit at the family owned Duda-Ruck Funeral Home of Dundalk, Inc. 7922 Wise Avenue on Tuesday October 21, 2025 from 10 AM-12 Noon, at which time a funeral service will be held at 12 Noon. Interment Holly Hill Memorial Gardens.
