Barbara
Kogler
d. May 13, 2025
Barbara grew up during the Great Depression, a formative experience that helped shape the resilience, independence, and practical wisdom she carried with her throughout her life. Married to the late Valentine Anthony Kogler Jr., Barbara embraced the role of wife, mother, and later, matriarch of a growing and tightly knit family.
She is survived by her loving children: Christopher A. Kogler, Mary, Cecilia Curry, Michael A. Kogler, and Stephen D. Kogler. She was preceded in death by her son, Matthew I. Kogler. Barbara's love extended deeply into the next generation, and she took great pride in her five grandchildren, whose lives were made brighter by her care, guidance, and ever-present support.
Barbara was a dedicated member of her Catholic church community, finding strength and peace in her faith. She was an extraordinary baker, best known for her homemade raisin bread that became a treasured staple in family gatherings and church functions alike. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and joy, where laughter and the scent of something warm from the oven often greeted anyone who walked through the door.
A formidable card player, Barbara had a knack for winning—and enjoyed every hand with equal parts competitive spirit and good humor. She tended to her garden with the same loving care she gave her family, always grounded in her deep appreciation for life's simple and enduring joys.
After the passing of her own mother, Barbara naturally stepped into the role of matriarch, guiding her family with quiet strength, unconditional love, and the kind of wisdom that only comes from a life well lived. She lived on her own terms, never compromising who she was or what she valued.
Barbara Kogler's life was a testament to love, faith, and perseverance. She will be remembered not only for her delicious raisin bread or quick wit at the card table but for the profound impact she had on those lucky enough to call her family or friend.
Her memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
