On September 26, 2026, Anna (Sis) M. Mapp passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Anna was born on January 16, 1938, in Baltimore, MD to her late parents John and Teresa (Guntner) Ewing. Anna is the beloved wife of the late Harry J. Mapp; devoted mother to John D. Mapp Sr., Alyce M. Marzola (David); cherished grandmother of Gregory Rohlfing (Jess), John Mapp Jr. (Jen), Steven Mapp (Kelly), Justin Marzola (Kara), Kelsey Murphy (Kyle). Anna was a great grandmother to Jaden, Kylee, Landon, Grayson, Emersyn, Leah, Mack, Owen and Reid. Anna was predeceased by her brother Albert Lawrence Ewing Sr.
Anna (Sis) graduated from Sparrows Point High School in 1956 and soon after married Harry. They spent their first years of marriage in Hawaii where Harry was stationed with the United States Air Force. When they returned to Maryland, they had their home built in Edgemere where she lived until her passing. Anna (Sis) retired from the steel industry as an administrative assistant in 1993 and she and her husband Harry enjoyed traveling and spending time at their vacation home in Trails End, located in Chincoteague, VA. She was a lifetime member of St. Lukes Catholic Church in Edgemere until its closing and then attended services at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Anna (Sis) enjoyed bingo, tending to her flowers, shopping and spending time with family. Having a great sense of humor and wit she was the matriarch of the family and will be truly missed.
The family will receive friends at the family-owned Duda-Ruck Funeral Home of Dundalk Inc. 7922 Wise Ave. on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church 1727 Lynch Road Dundalk MD 21222 on Thursday at 10 AM. Interment Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.
