On September 12, 2025, Andrew V. Nelson, Sr., former Baltimore Colts and  owner of Andy Nelson's Barbecue Restaurant, passed away peacefully at his home in Glen Arm, MD. He was the beloved husband of the late Bettye Nelson; devoted father of Andrew V. Nelson, Jr., Paul B. Nelson, Susan E. Harrell, Linda W. Nelson, Leslie J. Nelson, Brett R. Nelson, and the late Sheryl A. Nelson; loving grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 7 cherished great-grandchildren; dear brother of the late Jack Brock, Thomas Frederick Nelson, Bill Nelson, and Becky Nelson.

Friends may visit at the family-owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 York Rd. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 2-4 & 6-8pm. The services and interment will be private.
