Alice Roberta McGainey, 94, of Dundalk, Maryland, peacefully passed away at her home on October 3, 2026.

Born March 11, 1932 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Rhoda Long.  She was the beloved wife of the late John Joseph McGainey, Sr. for 50 years, and predeceased by son, Richard Jay McGainey.

Roberta is survived by sons Robert and Ron (Donna) McGainey, daughters Roberta (Walt) Music, Joyce Buxkemper and Janice Martell and multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Roberta was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Dundalk, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.

She found joy in the simple things in life – cheering on the Orioles, enjoying a bowl of her favorite ice cream, watching her favorite game shows, and, most of all, spending precious time with the family she loved so dearly.  She also had a special gift for making crafts, sharing her creativity and handmade treasures with those around her.

The family will receive friends at a viewing at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home, 7922 Wise Avenue, Dundalk, MD on Friday, October 9 from 10 AM to 12 Noon.  The service will be from 12 to 12:30 PM officiated by Pastor Stacey Shiflett.  Immediately following, a graveside service will be held at Holly Hill Cemetery.
